YOU ROCK!

Pb_rug     This one might be a little out there but I like the overall finished product!  This is another card form one of my Yahoo groups.  On this one, you were to make a card using this fun rug from the Pottery Barn Teen catalog.  It's so cute.  One look at this rug and I knew that it would be the perfect inspiration for a card made with SU!s Time Well Spent set.  I went on the search for the set on my shelves and remembered that I gave it to my mom for Christmas.  Oh well...back to the stash...
I bought this new Stamping Bella image a few weeks ago.  She's called "All Punked Up With No Place To Go."  I couldn't resist.  So, basically, the color scheme is coming from the inspiration rug and the rest is just craziness.  Inspiration_challenge_150I added lots of sparkle to her with a Sakura Stardust Glitter Pen and a few touches of Spica Glitter pen too.  I colored the image with various Prismacolor and Copic markers and then popped up her clothes and boots.  I was pretty much finished when I decided that she needed an "edge"...but I didn't want it too edgy so I stuck with SU!s silver cording wrapped around the image layer with a bow at the bottom.  The gorgeous patterned paper is by Imaginesce.  Oh, and I also masked the girl and over stamped A Muse's "You Rock" sentiment with Jumbo Java VersaMagic chalk ink.  I love it!
I'm only slightly late on this one so my partner should have this in her hands shortly!

BIRTHDAY COWBOY

One_stamp_challenge_2_150 I'm now in frantic mode trying to finish up all of my stamping commitments before we leave for vacation this weekend!  Why - Oh why - do I always wait until the last minute?  ACK!
Anyway, this card is for a challenge on one of my Yahoo groups.  You could only use one stamp but you could use rub-ons and such.  This little cowboy is one of my all time fave Stampin' Up! images - Cowboy Kid.  The fun patterned papers and punch outs are from a K&Company Scrap Pad To Go called Kazoo Kids.  The "Big Boy" words on the tag are alsoOne_stamp_challenge_1_150 from that same pad and are a rub-on.  (I had a lot of trouble with these...they're a little older...anyone else find that problem with older rub-ons?)  The "Happy Birthday" sentiment is from Making Memories and is also a rub-on.  I colored the little cowpoke with various Copic and Prismacolor Markers and gave him a sparkly bagde with a Spica Glitter Pen.
Hope my partner likes it...the "D" is for her little guy's name...I'm late so she's probably forgotten that something was even coming from me...sorry Jane!

BLOGGER'S CHALLENGE #46 - MOTHER'S DAY CARDS

Roseyposie_bc46_150_2     Mother's Day...Mother's Day...it's almost time for Mother's Day!  It's really not that big of a deal around our house...but I do love my MOTHER so this is for her.  This week's Blogger's Challenge was to create a Mother's Day card...duh!  (Last week was Graduation cards and since I don't know anyone who's graduating from anywhere - and because I ran out of time - I skipped that one.  I did have a little idea for something rattling around in my head so I may get to it yet.)

My mom is a Red Hat Lady...thus the color scheme here.  And I got some new stamps this week - SHOCKER RIGHT?!?  NOT!  This lovely little girlie is Rosie Posie and she's from Whipper Snapper Designs, illustrated by Anna Wight(ACK!  When I went over to Whipper Snapper to grab the link for this post I saw that Anna has two new UM sets coming soon - Cats and Dogs - oh dear...I'm sure they'll be must haves!)  She's so cute!  I watercolored her using SU! reinkers and also Hot Cinnamon Twinklng H2Os for the shoes and polka-dots.  The sentiment is from Paper Source.

I hope all of you MOMs out there have a wonderful weekend.  (I also hope it gets sunny around here but I think it's all rain in the forecast...good for the plants though!)  HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!

THE CUTEST KNIGHT

Cutest_knight_150

I have to profess that I think this is THE cutest stamp that I have seen in....FOREVER!  He's so adorable!!  He's a newer image from Stamping Bella.  I've been on a little stamp spending spree lately...(uh-oh...don't tell the DH!)...and I couldn't resist him.
I used the Faux Brick technique for the card base - information on that is in my last post.  And, to me, it just screamed 'castle walls'.  And the mirror idea came about and this is the result.  I think this is my best watercoloring to date.  I'm so trying to be able to keep up with the big girls...Anna Wight is the master, isn't she?  I was so proud of myself....I'm not sure I could give this away...although, I didn't really have a purpose for the card when I started other than making cards featuring this technique.
Oooh...one other cool thing...the Bella stamps are unmounted.  In the past I've added the foam cling to them to use them with my acrylic blocks.  My friend, and stamping guru, Pat Huntoon, clued me in to using a glue stick on the back of the rubber UM stamp and using that to adhere it to the acrylic block.  Stamp your images.  Pull the stamp off and clean the stamp and block.  This little trick worked perfectly and I didn't have to trim around all of that sticky mounting foam.  Yippeee!
Anyway, if you like this little guy, be sure and visit Stamping Bella...they have lots more images than just Bellas these days and they're so fun.  Have a great Sunday!

CHEERY CHERRY DRINK RECIPES Album

Alma asked the Cat's PJ's design team to come up with some projects using these new acrylic albums from Clear Scraps.  It was really an 'anything goes' kind of assignment but there were a few criteria:  any stamps that we chose needed to be TCP stamps and we also had to use three items from some random product that Alma had provided for us.  My goodie box had some Heidi Swapp Bling Cherries and this project sprang from there...

Front_cover_150

This is the Flower Tab Album and it is acrylic...I covered up all of the acrylic on my project though.   I searched high and low on the internet for cherry drink recipes and then printed them onto paper from the Making Memories 5th Ave. Spiral Journaling Book that Alma sent me.  So don't ask me to vouch for any of these concoctions...they did sound pretty yummy though!  (You can click on any of the photos to view them larger.)

TCP TUESDAY #5 - COLOR CHALLENGE

Tcp_tuesday_logo_1 Happy TCP Tuesday, everyone!
I know...I'm late with my posting today.  I was working on another project and then when I finally got ready to work on my TCP card it's a good thing that I checked our data base.  I was ready to do a completely different challenge!  (I would have revealed Katie's challenge for next week...that wouldn't have been good...yikes.)  Anyway, I'm on the right track now....
We're back around to the beginning of our cycle to another color challenge this week.  Toni Armstrong is the Hipster Hostess with the Mostess this time and the challenge is to create a monochromatic card or project featuring the color BLUE along with your Cat's PJs stamps.
The instructions are pretty much the same as the previous four Tuesdays...post a link to your creation here on Toni's blog before the end of the day on Saturday, May 3rd.  If you post on Splitcoast, please use the keyword TCPTUES05.
This is the end of the first month of challenges from us.  You know what that means?  It's almost time for Alma to choose our Swanky Stamper for the month of April and to award that person $25 in Cat's Cash!  Yea, baby!
Don't forget to look in on the other Cat's Pajamas design team members to see what they've come up with.  Their names are marked to the left.  Alma's also got the Holey Moley Monday slideshow up on her blog featuring all of the great cards from last week's inspiration challenge.

Tcptues05_150
